Ever since Amway, which is still a viable company, got its start after WWII, there has been an interest in direct sales. And those who had the talent, personality, and perseverance usually were able to make a living, if not make a fortune. There are still MLM (multi-level marketing)
companies which are doing the opportunity meetings in people’s living rooms, restaurant banquet rooms, and hotel meeting rooms, but the most used avenue for doing business is the Internet.

You still have to use your warm market, that is your friends and family as you begin your business to practice on, but with the Internet, all you need is a website. Now you just point the website to the company’s web page and you are in business. Most MLM’s don’t even require you to build your own website; they have the tools for you to “replicate” your own. Others, just by pointing your website to their home page, your website becomes theirs and anyone who goes through your website and buys something, you get the credit and many times, they become a part of your organization.

A replicate website is one the MLM company has put together and all you have to do is move your website to their hosting site and download their software to your website and you have their “replicated” site on your website. The advantage is you don’t have to know how to build a website. The disadvantage your website looks just like everyone else’s website who is using the replicated site. Does this make a difference?

replicated sites are not picked up by Google and therefore do not become a part of the search engine process which most website’s rely on to attract business. So, if you are looking for an easy way to have a website, and the restrictions of a replicated has, then using the MLM’s website is the way to go.

People in your organization are called “Downline” and the goal is to build as large a downline as possible because that is where the money is.
